8:00-9:00 WELCOME TIME:
Child has free access to all of our stations: pretend play, blocks, reading area, arts that promote healthy development.
9:30–10:00 CIRCLE TIME, WELCOME SONGS, BOOK READING AND GROUP DISCUSSION:
The goal of this time is to welcome your child and create a loving atmosphere to start the day. During this time we sing, we read and we have a lively discussion based on the project we are working on. The teachers prepare thoughtful questions to stimulate discussion. Children have an opportunity to also showcase their work from the previous day to the whole group. During circle time we also talk about social and emotional skills, help children to describe their feelings, and learn ways to feel better.
10:30–11:30 LEARNING STATIONS/ ARTS & PROJECT
All activities are to develop your child’s imagination, creativity, cognitive skills, hand and eye coordination and fine motor skills, language and social/emotional skills. During project time we work in small groups of 3-4 children exploring multiple mediums including recycled materials, fabric, found nature objects, drawing, painting or working with clay. These are group projects that last for weeks or months and require multiple steps and phases, exploring a certain topic with the children, and appreciating the process of learning and discovery and developing their sense of expression.
11:30-12:15 OUTDOORS PLAY:
Children are free to explore our playground and a number of play stations designed for individual and group play, including sand area, water play, rock climbing etc.
Healthy homemade meals are provided. Children are mentored to develop proper table manners and clean up after themselves. Please see our weekly menu here
