About the trainer
Elda R. Chang has a Master’s in Education from Harvard Graduate School of Education, and a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychobiology from University of California, Los Angeles. She returned to Albania after living and working in United States for over 20 years. She is the founder and director of Tirana English School, a Reggio Emilia inspired preschool. Elda strongly believes that the early years are critical and foundational not only for school achievement, but also for children’s well-being for the rest of their life. Elda is passionate about supporting parents, caregivers and educators with trainings and resources on building strong and positive relationships with children, children’ social emotional learning and self regulation. Elda is a consultant for international programs in early childhood development, and is the co-author of the Albanian national training curriculum for preschool directors. She is a regular guest on Albanian TV programs advocating for quality early childhood education.
The course is based on Elda’s thesis of her Master’s in Education program at Harvard University. The course material is founded on extensive scientific research and effective parenting training programs such as “The Incredible Years”.
This is a comprehensive course on parenting. The sessions are interactive, and provide coaching with changing behaviour. In addition, the trainer will provide invidualized support to the participating parents.
This parenting course aims to:

This parenting course consists of 10 sessions, each session lasts 90 minutes once a week online or in person. Each session builds on the previous one, and to get the most benefit out of this course parents have to attend all sessions. They will need to keep a journal throughout the course, and be willing to share with the group what worked and what did not work for them.

Session 3. Positive Attention | Giving your child positive attention during daily activities by describing what your child is doing and responding to your child. Paying attention to the positive behaviour during the daily routine. Modelling – model the behaviour that you desire in your child |

Session 7 (Understanding Emotions – Parent and Child) | Menaging our own emotions and helping the child to understand his/her emotions. The way we feel affects the way we behave.
